It aims to introduce more complicated grammar points, further expend vocabulary and set expressions enabling students to develop skills in reading, writing and speaking at higher elementary level. Upon successful completion of this module, students are expected to be able to read and write simple texts and communicate on everyday topics and function at Lower B1 of CEFR or Lower Band 5 of HSK.

If you successfully pass CH3A, you may continue for CH3B (book 3 L32-L36) in Semester 2.  There are different versions of New Practical Chinese Readers in the market and stock could be limited for a particular version, we, therefore, ask students to buy the version from Hanban UK, which is about 15-minute walk from SOAS at 124 Euston Road, London, NW1 2AL. In the first lesson, they will bring textbooks to our classroom (£15?).
