By the end of this module, students should be able to

Identify key theoretical concepts which contextualise musical circulation in a diverse variety of genres and global cultural contexts;

Communicate the results of their own research and reading in a persuasive and accessible manner, developing original arguments about music and meaning in their chosen area of study;

Critically assess historical and contemporary phenomena as they pertain to expressive culture in the modern world, including file sharing & streaming, algorithmic recommendation, and digital mediation.
