Intended learning outcomes:
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Recognise how gender analysis cross-cuts and is influenced by broader processes and phenomena
- Demonstrate a critical understanding on how gender theories and concepts are used as tools for social change
- Develop an informed and critical view of gender becoming institutionalised within policy frameworks
- Consider how gender is utilised as both a tool of analysis, as well as instrumentalised in order to legitimise and advance other ideological agendas or interests
- Reflect on dynamics of inclusion, exclusion, marginalisation, and intersectionality within gender and development
