Intended learning outcomes:

This is the first part of the core module Introduction to Political Theory. The overall module provides a broad overview of some of the key thinkers and key themes of classical, Enlightenment, modern, postmodern, feminist and post-colonial political theory. The substance of this course consists of close reading and analysis of primary texts of political thought, as well as a contextualization of their arguments and concepts as they develop over time and space.  Our study will focus on the values, arguments, and justifications provided by various thinkers to the most fundamental political question: how are we to organize our collective lives?
