Intended learning outcomes:
1. To understand the key themes and theories that have characterised the Sociology and Anthropology of Britain.
2. To be able to communicate and debate the role of class, empire and colonialism in understanding culture and Britain
3. To be able to critically and contextually evaluate ethnographies set in Britain.
4. To be able to effectively apply these concepts, themes and theories to a topic of the students' choice.
5. To be able to chose and undertake appropriate research to understand culture in contemporary Britain.
