Intended learning outcomes:

  1. To deepen and broaden students’ knowledge and understanding of the material needed for empirical econometrics analysis of micro and macro data 
  2. To cover the theory and practice of modern econometrics at a level appropriate for an economics graduate, emphasising application
  3. To teach the students the habits of thought, knowledge and understanding to be able to carry out good quality applied econometric research with confidence
  4. To develop the critical insight to appraise econometric results obtained by other researchers
  5. To provide students with the ability to use R in an advanced manner
  6. To deepen their other transferable skills such as written and verbal communication, teamwork, numeracy, computer literacy, problem-solving, and analytical skills
