Intended learning outcomes:
- To provide theoretical explanations for the role of finance in the economy, focusing on financial intermediation.
- To analyse the two-way relationship between the domestic financial system and the ‘real economy’ in economic development.
3. Critically to apply theories of international finance to current world economy conditions.
4. To explore international monetary and financial issues that are particularly relevant to developing countries.
5. To develop an independent understanding of current policy debates in the field by deploying and testing a variety of relevant models.
