Intended learning outcomes:
- To understand and differentiate between competing theoretical approaches to economic policy-making.
- To analyse and critically discuss core economic policy issues in the contemporary global economy, their history and current challenges.
- To study various economic policy tools available to deal with those challenges, the mechanisms through which they operate, the theoretical framework in which they are embedded, and their impact on policy outcomes.
- To understand core issues in the design, implementation and evaluation of economic policies, at national and international level.
- To demonstrate and apply basic skills in analysing economic policy problems, while designing potential solutions.
