Intended learning outcomes:
The purpose of the Dissertation is to enable students to demonstrate their capacity to carry out a substantial piece of independent academic research on a selected topic.
By the end of this Seminar, students will be able to:
- identify a legal issue for exploration;
- articulate a coherent plan for analysing this legal issue;
- build and structure a coherent legal argument;
- carry out independent research;
- critically and creatively engage with the relevant literature and/or primary sources;
- analyse and present this information in a way that satisfactorily assesses the topic which they have set themselves.
The module is compulsory for all students on Postgraduate Law Taught Degrees.
